Swinging Cereal

I chose this experiment because, i thought it would be neat to see the cereal attach to my comb, because of static electricity, caused by the combing over and over of my hair.

This experiment worked because, when I combed my hair over and over, electrons went from my hair to my comb. My comb had a negative static charge and the cereal had a neutral charge. When I put my comb next to the cereal, ( having neutral charge), now was attracted to my comb because when the cereal and comb touched each other, electrons went from my comb to the cereal, causing the cereal to move towards and touch my comb.
