Cornstratch Quicksand Goo
I chose this experiment because I felt it would be interesting to see how this experiment with cornstartch and water mixed together is somewhat compared to quicksand, Quicksand is a mixture of water and sand that is runny.
This experiment worked because, when the water and cornstartch are mixed together, they both act like a solid. When I continuously punched and squeezed the mixture, I was making the startch molecules come together. The force of I punching and squeezing the mixture, had trapped the water between the chains of startch. When the force I used was taken away, the cornstartch moves easily. This makes the mixture gooey.
