Naked Egg

I chose this experiment because I wanted to see if the egg's hard shell could really dissolve.

This experiment worked because, the bubbled on the egg were carbon dioxide gas. The vinegar I put the egg in is an acid. The egg's shell is made of calcium carbonate. The vinegar reacted with the calcium, causing the shell to dissolve. It took only three days for the egg's shell to dissolve in the vinegar.
