Exploding Lunch Bag

I chose this experiment because I wanted to see how long it would take for the lunch bag to burst when the vinegar and baking soda eventually mixed together.

The reason this experiment worked was an acid base reaction took place, a gas was created- Carbon Dioxide. The vinegar and water already in the bag and dropping the tissue with baking soda inside, gave me just enough time to put that in the bag and quickly close it. It took less than a minute for me to do this and put it on the ground. The Carbon Dioxide gas filled the bag, the bag expanded and exploded.
