Crunch A Can

I chose this experiment because i wanted to see how I could crunch a can with hot and cold water, other than by hand.

The reason why this experiment worked was because a vacuum was created because the boiling water in the pop can had made the air pressure inside less. the boiling water's vapors had pushed the air out of the can which made inside the can, a lower pressure. When I put the very hot can upside down in very cold water, the can started to crinkle, crush because of the pressure by the cold water outside the can and the outside air being greater than the pressure inside of the can.
