This chose this experiment because I wanted to see if a piece of cardboard could hold a full class of water from spilling out of the glass, keeping the water in.
The reason why this experiment worked is because the pressure of the water inside the glass on the piece of cardboard is less than the air that is below the piece of cardboard. This is what keeps the card pressed on the glass so no water comes out. It is not the cardboard that keeps the water inside the glass.
